Wallace Eannace - Air Management in Hydronic Systems

Dates: July 2nd, 2020
Hours: 2 pm – 3 pm
Location: Webcast
PDH – 1.0
Trainer: Michael Bogdanov

This presentation differentiates between “air control” and “air elimination” systems, provides information on components required to make a closed system work appropriately with a significant focus on expansion tank selection and the role an expansion tank play in proper hydronic water pressure control.

  • Be able to identify an air control or air elimination system, the components and understand the operational difference between them.
  • Understanding of what determines the pressure in a system at a given point and how static pressure, dynamic head, system temperature, component selection and location effect the pressure.
  • Become comfortable sizing expansion tanks, relief valves, pressure reducing valves, and understanding how these components are all related.
