PHCC's Monthly Meetings Recap

Hello Members!

We wanted to recap our last three membership meetings in case you may have missed them or if you were looking to recall what we discussed.

Wednesday, November 6, 2024

Dan O’Leary started our meeting with The Pledge of Allegiance. We then observed a moment of silence for our lost member Al Esposito who passed away on October 30th.Then Patrick Sullivan read the Anti-Trust Policy to members. Dan O’Leary reminded all members of our upcoming Holiday Party on Wednesday, December 11th from 6 to 10 PM at the Irish Poet in Wantagh. He mentioned there will be plenty of parking at the rear of the building and reminded members to reserve their tickets on the PHCC website. We look forward to seeing you all there!

The guest speaker of the evening was Mark Shivers from Ignite IPA (Intelligent Process Automation). Mark spoke about the everyday capabilities of artificial intelligence in the plumbing and heating field, and how it could benefit all of us when used. Anyone interested in learning more about AI and their business should reach out to Mark for more information.

We held our membership meeting starting off with The Pledge of Allegiance from Dan O’Leary and Patrick Sullivan reading our Anti-trust Statement. O’Leary spoke to members urging them to check our Calendar of Events on-line to stay informed about upcoming events, including our upcoming Holiday Party. The information is mentioned above and on the PHCC website.

The first guest speaker of the night was Patrick Williams with U.S.I. Insurance. Williams discussed Construction Insurance and the importance of keeping updated certificates. He also discussed two other important types of insurances, Cyber Insurance and Employment Practices Insurance. The insurance rates in our area have increased recently by approximately 5-10%. Some carriers, for example travelers, are no longer offering Liability insurance. The second speaker was Robert McLaughlin from HVACR Training Center. His speech mainly focused on developing students in the workforce.

We held our September meeting starting off with Dan O’Leary and Patrick Sullivan and their monthly meeting openers. Jerry Katz presented certificates to Dan O’Leary, Bob Wissing, and Ron Doughty for assisting the Boy Scouts at Livingston Manor on achieving their Merit Badges in plumbing. Patrick Sullivan gave a presentation on unemployment benefits in the workplace. He covered proper reasons for termination and justification of denial or approval of benefits.

For all our members who have shown up to our monthly meetings, we thank you for your support. Members who have missed these last few meetings, we urge you to attend each membership meeting, they are vital to our membership and crucial for staying up to date with what is happening with the membership.
